MOST DANGEROUS SPOT IN THE GUIDE. An average of 5 deaths or serious injuries per year, 2005-2018. The cliffs themselves are the danger -- people have been battered against them trying to exit. Active erosion, a bluff section broke off April 2026. Rope and peg descents are the norm. The tide governs your exit, not just the wave: surfers unfamiliar with the area are often unable to get back up the trails on bigger days at higher tides. Urchins, rips, rocks.

NORTH SIDE ONLY. The south side is documented as a much more aggressive crowd -- locals 'not afraid to regulate their spot' -- and is shallower, hollower and heavier. Paid parking at the pier is very limited; street park and walk. Wisconsin St entry has occasional big rocks.
